The Hooks had their first 7:30 pm game of the season and it was chilly for late April!  Lots of kids on both teams were sporting their Under Armor to keep warm.

It was another tough loss for the Hooks, but they had some positives come out of the game tonight.  The outfielders did a great job getting the ball in quickly and the infield was baseball ready all night.  The Hooks had some players in new positions tonight, getting the players more experience at different spots on the field.  One thing is for sure, the Hooks didn’t give up tonight and played hard until the end.  Here’s a quick look at the Hooks tonight:

Game 2: Hooks vs. Blue Claws

The Hooks played the Blue Claws on Monday and it was a tough loss for the Hooks.  The Blue Claws managed to crank out a few outfield hits.  But, the Hooks didn't give up and pushed until the end!
The outfielder’s, had some tough obstacles to overcome with “Lake Burke” in outfield and they all did a great job getting the ball into the infield quickly.  It's great to see the outfielders backing up each other.
The infield was a little soft and muddy posing its’ own challenges for the infielders. Way to go boys for digging deep in the mud!
The whole team did a great job at the plate ~ you can see they are all working on being patient, picking good pitches, and taking good swings.
Overall, everyone played hard and put a lot of effort, hustle, and heart into the game!! Lots of good things happened on the field tonight with players backing up their teammates, encouraging their teammates in the dugout after a tough at bat, and holding their heads up.  Keep working hard Hooks!!
Final Score: Hooks 4, Blue Claws 13

Game 1: Storm vs. Hooks

It was an exciting first game for our team with new players to West Raleigh and/or to the Rookie League!
For the first game as a team, the Hooks looked good offensively and defensively.  All their hard work in practice is starting to pay off!
Offensively, the Hooks had some big hits to put runners on base.  The players also showed patience at the plate by not swinging at bad pitches.
The Hooks defense was pretty solid today.  The outfielders saw some action and were able to get the ball in quickly!  The infielders were creeping and ready for action with each Storm batter that came to the plate! Nice work Hooks!
Final Score: Storm 9, Hooks 2
